I retested Promptchan AI because it does not behave like a typical AI girlfriend app. Its real playground is image creation, video, reusable characters and NSFW content. What impressed me most this time was not image quality alone. It was the scrolling feed, followed by the ability to open an existing creation and clone it, animate it, tweak it or start a chat.
Promptchan is one of the most complete NSFW creative studios I have tested, but it is still not my first choice for an emotional AI relationship.
Why Promptchan was worth retesting
During my first test, I mainly saw Promptchan as a highly configurable NSFW image generator. That is still accurate, but the experience now feels more connected. I can begin with an idea, choose a style or character, and then continue from the gallery instead of returning to a blank canvas.
I also like that adult content is hidden before I deliberately open it. This is not a perfect safeguard and the service is still adults only, but I find that first layer more responsible than immediately displaying an explicit feed.

Creating images: many controls, but a clear system
The creator is still busy. In my test, I could select the visual model, poses, filters, emotions and a negative prompt. That last field is useful for telling the model what I want it to avoid. The interface also shows the cost before generation: the setup in my screenshot displayed 2 Gems.
Selecting an existing AI changes the workflow
The small character carousel at the bottom of the panel stood out more to me this time. I can select an existing AI rather than rebuilding her appearance for every scene. In my opinion, this is where Promptchan becomes more useful than a basic prompt generator: I start from a visual identity and reuse it in a different setting.
Quality still depends heavily on the prompt
Realistic portraits can look very convincing, and anime is well represented. Hands, complicated compositions and scenes with several characters can still produce flaws. Presets help, but the more specific my idea becomes, the more work I need to put into the prompt and exclusions.
The Explore scroll became one of my favorite features
Honestly, the Explore feed makes Promptchan feel much less like a cold tool. I can scroll through community creations, open one that catches my attention and inspect its prompt or settings. I do not have to invent everything alone. For someone still learning how to write good prompts, it is an excellent source of ideas.
Prompt, seed and settings remain visible
On a public creation, I could see the prompt, aspect ratio, quality, style, filter, pose, emotion and even the seed. That is much more useful than a gallery that only displays attractive images. I can understand how the result was made before deciding whether to reuse it.
Clone, animate, tweak or chat
Once I select an AI, Promptchan gives me several paths: Clone, Animate, Tweak, Nature of use and Chat. “Nature of use” is not the clearest label, but the overall system is smart. A discovery becomes a practical starting point instead of another image I simply like and forget.
AI video: interesting, but much more expensive
The video generator follows the same logic as image creation. I choose a style, pose, image to animate or character, then describe the movement I want. My screenshot showed a cost of 18 Gems for the configuration on screen. That is not a universal price; the cost changes with the action and selected options.
Short clips add motion to a character and fit naturally into the image-to-video workflow. I am still more convinced by the still images. Video consumes more Gems, and motion can lose some realism. The Pro plan is the tier that officially unlocks full-length videos with Extend.
Chat and roleplay: useful, but still secondary
I can start a conversation from a feed character and continue a scenario with images. It is fun for quick roleplay, and the less restrictive approach offers more freedom than many conventional apps.
For an ongoing relationship, I find Nomi more convincing with memory and Candy AI easier to use. Promptchan works better when I want to build a scene and character than when I want to forget about the technology behind the conversation.
NSFW freedom does not mean there are no rules
Promptchan markets its image generation and chat as uncensored. During my test, I did encounter far fewer blocks than I normally see in mainstream tools. “Uncensored” does not mean everything is allowed, though.
The official terms prohibit minors, non-consensual intimate deepfakes and the use of celebrities or real people without consent. Promptchan also says prompts, generated content and uploads are scanned by automated systems, with community reporting and human review adding further layers.
I would stick to fictional adult characters and never upload a real person’s picture without explicit permission. This is not legal advice; applicable rules also depend on the country and how the content is used.
Promptchan AI pricing and how Gems work
Promptchan combines free access, subscriptions and an internal currency called Gems. These are the public prices shown by the official site at the time of this update. The 20% discount banner in my screenshots is a promotion, not the permanent price.

Paid memberships also advertise 50% off extra Gem purchases. This is what I would watch before subscribing: a membership does not make every action unlimited. A basic image is inexpensive, but variations, high quality, voice and especially video can reduce the balance quickly.
Promptchan says subscriptions can be cancelled from the account. Its refund policy allows requests within 30 days when the customer has not made significant use of the AI services. Requests are reviewed case by case, and crypto payments are described as non-refundable.
Privacy: public and private modes grant different rights
The privacy policy lists email, transaction information, technical data, and prompts or searches used in public mode among the data it may collect. It also describes PostHog for product analytics and session replay, plus Google Analytics and Google Ads subject to required consent in Europe.
The most important distinction appears in the terms. In public mode, I keep ownership but grant Promptchan and other users a broad license over the published content. In private or offline mode, the company says it does not assert rights over the relevant images and prompts. For personal or sensitive work, I would always verify the selected mode before generating.
