I tested DarLink AI because it brings together almost everything I look at in an AI girlfriend platform: a large character library, chat, roleplay, adult content, images, videos and several memory tiers.
My first impression was mostly positive. The dark interface is clear and more structured than many sites in this niche. However, it felt a little slow during my test. I want to be careful with that point: I cannot tell whether it was a one-off issue that evening, temporary server load or a recurring performance problem.
My DarLink AI opinion in 30 seconds
| Point | My take |
|---|---|
| Best for | Adults who want a large character library with chat, roleplay and media in one place |
| What I liked | NSFW content hidden by default, detailed discovery filters and a fairly easy interface |
| What bothered me | Slow loading during parts of my session and a business model that combines subscriptions with tokens |
| Chat | Promising in my very short exchange, but I did not test long enough to judge memory |
| Images and videos | Both are available in the generator; images cost 2 tokens and videos cost 20 |
| Price | Starts at $12.99 per month, with separate token packs |
| Quick verdict | DarLink feels like a complete platform, but media costs need monitoring and I would check whether the slowdowns repeat |

First look: open DarLink AI and test the interface and initial chat for free before choosing a plan.
My first minutes on DarLink AI
The home page immediately pushes character creation. The left menu took me from chat to the generator, character discovery, my saved AIs, tokens and subscriptions. I did not need much time to understand where things were.

What stood out more was the community library. DarLink is not limited to a handful of official companions. Explore includes realistic and anime characters with filters for relationship, personality, occupation, fetish, hobbies, gender, ethnicity, age, hair, eyes and body type.
The displayed character count is impressive, but I would not treat that number as proof of quality. A huge library guarantees choice, not that every profile is original or well written.

NSFW content hidden by default: a safeguard I genuinely liked
This was probably my favorite prevention feature. Profiles rated NSFW are blurred when they first appear in Explore. You have to press “Show” intentionally before seeing the image. When I tried to access adult content, DarLink also displayed a prompt asking me to confirm that I was at least 18.
I find this much more responsible than platforms that throw explicit material onto the first screen. It is not strong identity verification, just an age confirmation, but the default blur at least prevents immediate exposure.

Chat and roleplay: what I actually observed
I started a conversation with Lena Faraday, a preconfigured character built around a specific scenario. After a simple “Hello Lena,” she stayed in character and continued the scene instead of replying like a general assistant. My second message received another response that fit the situation.
That is encouraging, but the visible exchange was far too short for me to claim that DarLink has excellent memory or can sustain roleplay for hours. The paid plans distinguish between basic, enhanced and “Living memory.” I therefore treat those tiers as features advertised by DarLink, not as long-term results I personally verified.

Character creation and customization
Creation is central to the product. DarLink lets users start from an existing character or build a new one, then shape a scenario and personality. Public profiles also display detailed traits such as age, eye color and body type.
In my opinion, DarLink is trying to serve both people who want an immediate conversation and users who enjoy preparing a detailed roleplay. The discovery filters support that same idea: it feels as much like a scenario catalogue as a straightforward chat app.

Creation check: browse the filters and public profiles first to see whether DarLink’s scenarios genuinely suit what you want.
Image and video generation
I opened the generator to check the available controls. I could choose image or video, use an existing character or start from a new image, then work with parameters or a text prompt.
I did not generate enough content to judge output quality or consistency honestly. What I can confirm is DarLink’s displayed pricing: an image costs 2 tokens and a video costs 20. One video therefore consumes ten times as many tokens as one image.
The page also showed Standard mode and a Pro mode marked “Coming soon” when I captured it. That label may change quickly.

Voice, memory and other paid features
The subscription page lists six standard voices with Essential and ten premium voices with Advanced or Ultimate. Memory also changes by plan: basic, enhanced and “Living memory” on Ultimate.
I did not use the voices enough to give a personal opinion about how natural they sound. I am listing them as included features, not as tested quality. Ten voice options alone do not tell me anything about pacing, emotion or realism.
NSFW: central to the product, without appearing uninvited
DarLink openly targets adults. Its library includes many NSFW characters, the generator is presented as supporting adult images and videos, and all three paid plans list NSFW access.
Again, the preventive layer is what I appreciated: blurred cards, an intentional reveal button and an 18+ confirmation. Adult material is easy to find when that is what you want, but it is not forced onto the screen immediately.
“NSFW” does not mean there are no rules. DarLink’s official terms prohibit illegal content and allow moderation or removal when content breaks its policies.
NSFW check: the preventive blur is a real positive, but check token costs before making repeated generations.
DarLink AI pricing in August 2026
I checked the plans on August 2, 2026, using the in-account subscription screen and DarLink’s official plan page. These are the displayed monthly prices before possible taxes or temporary offers.
| Plan | Displayed monthly price | Messages | Monthly tokens | Memory | Media cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $12.99 | 6,000/month | 100 | Basic | Image 2 tokens, video 20 tokens |
| Advanced | $27.99 | 9,000/month | 300 | Enhanced | Image 2 tokens, video 20 tokens |
| Ultimate | $49.99 | Unlimited | 500 | “Living memory” | Image 2 tokens, video 20 tokens |

DarLink also displayed 15% off quarterly billing and 44% off yearly billing. I would not treat those percentages as permanent pricing. Check the total charge shown at checkout.
Token packs
| Tokens | Displayed price |
|---|---|
| 100 | $9.99 |
| 350 | $34.99 |
| 550 | $49.99 |
| 1,150 | $99.99 |
| 3,750 | $299.99 |
| 7,500 | $599.99 |

My screenshot showed both card and cryptocurrency payment options. The more important point is the real media cost. In theory, 100 tokens cover 50 images or 5 videos if no other action uses those tokens.
Is there a free version?
I could create an account, browse characters and start a chat without subscribing. The free access feels closer to a preview than a complete plan. I could not find a clear, stable official limit that would let me publish an exact free-message count with confidence.
My honest summary is simple: you can try DarLink for free, but the full NSFW experience, advanced memory and useful media features depend on subscriptions and tokens.
Renewal, cancellation and refunds
According to DarLink’s official terms, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of the selected period. Cancelling prevents the next charge, while paid access normally remains active until the current term ends.
The general refund approach is restrictive. Purchases are normally final. DarLink says it may consider some requests made within 24 hours when the service has barely been used, but approval is not guaranteed. Its refund page also covers platform errors and termination without fault by the user.
I would start with the shortest plan and check renewal settings before committing to a longer billing period.
Privacy and safety: what the official documents say
DarLink’s privacy policy says the service may store account details, profile information, text or voice messages, uploaded images, device data, IP addresses and usage logs. It also states that one-to-one conversations are not shared with other users.
At the same time, DarLink says interactions may be analyzed and anonymized data may be used to improve its models and features. Its terms also grant the company a broad license over content submitted or created through the service, although users retain ownership of their original content.
My practical rule is the same for every AI girlfriend: use a nickname, consider a dedicated email address and never share an address, password, ID document or banking information in chat. This is a practical reading of the service’s documents, not legal advice.

Pros and cons
What I liked
- Preventive blurring of NSFW character cards.
- A large mix of realistic and anime characters.
- Detailed filters for finding a specific scenario.
- A structured interface for chat, discovery and media.
- Images and videos brought together in one generator.
What I liked less
- The site felt slow during this session, even if it may have been temporary.
- Free access works mainly as a preview.
- A subscription does not remove token limits from media generation.
- One video costs ten times as many tokens as one image.
- I do not have enough long-term use to validate the memory claims.
DarLink AI or an alternative?
DarLink makes sense if you want a large community library, adult roleplay and media in one interface. Another platform may be a better fit when one feature matters more than the rest.
- Xotic AI if you mainly want permissive roleplay and a community feed.
- OurDream AI if visual scenario creation and NSFW experimentation come first.
- Candy AI if you prefer a more polished all-round experience.
- Nomi AI if emotional continuity matters more than adult media generation.
My final DarLink AI verdict
DarLink felt ambitious during my test. It offers a large character library, useful filters, roleplay-focused chat and a generator combining images and videos. Hiding NSFW cards at first is a genuine positive for me because it adds a basic preventive layer without blocking consenting adults from accessing the content.
My main concern is performance. The site felt somewhat slow during my session, and I do not yet know whether that is typical. The second point to watch is the budget: a subscription unlocks features, but images and especially videos still consume tokens.
I would start with the free preview, check loading times on your own device and test the chat before choosing a long subscription.
My recommendation: start with free access and only choose a longer plan after checking chat, speed and your token use.
